Master Chef Shipra Khanna is a name known to everyone. Starting with the delicacies she dished out (who doesn’t know about the Yam Mousse she made) in the second season of the cooking show that changed people’s perspective towards cooking and to winning it, hosting TV shows, publishing books and now opening a restaurant, there is nothing she has not achieved.
The Darzi Bar & Kitchen is a venture by Master Chef Shipra Khanna and Radioactive Hospitality, which promises to offer world class tailor made gourmet experience to its customers by providing a highly customized and personalized experience based on individual tastes.
The words tailor-made summarize my entire vision for The Darzi Bar and Kitchen, as it is an unique concept, catering to everyone with options made especially for them, highlighted in overall interiors, food and drinks. Everything has been set keeping this vision at power, with options that have been invented to suit the customer’s fits and misfits so that when they leave they are a lot happier than when they entered. – Mr. Manuj M Gupta, the Founder and Partner of The Darzi Bar and Kitchen
The launch on January 14th, 2016 was a grand one and saw many noted celebrities including singer Jasbir Jassi, Chandrachur Singh and contestants from Master Chef India among others.
6 months ago, I had a dream to bring a warm and cozy place to New Delhi which explores tailor made cocktails and handcrafted gourmet food. A place which was idle for having conversations while enjoying some of the best concoctions and bites this city has to offer. Hence, The Darzi Bar and Kitchen came into being. – Mr. Abhishek Trehan, Partner of The Darzi Bar and Kitchen
The interiors match the vision on which the restaurant is established – with sewing machines or parts of it making presence on wall arts and ceilings. Spread over 2 floors and a decent terrace, the first looks provide a good impression of the venue. The in house DJ did a great job and the acoustics are top level here – hope that is maintained. The compulsory flight of stairs that must be taken to reach the first level and no lift (as this is the heritage building, they are not allowed to) might be a deterrent for people with disabilities and in their old age.
We tried a couple of things from the pass around items and they were decent. However we would like to reserve our views on food for another time when we get to experience the real Darzi experience – in simpler terms the ‘made-to-order’ experience.
Tailor-made food and beverages are for your belly as clothes are tailor made for the body. This is the essence of The Darzi Bar and Kitchen. Of course not to miss out on the whole ambience which too is tailor made!! – Master Chef Shipra Khanna
Here’s wishing all the best to the team and hope that people love the tailor made gourmet experience that this venture has to offer.
