If there is another restaurant that deserved to be added to the Khan Market kitty, it was Sly Granny. Opulent by all means, Sly Granny fulfills all criteria for being the newest entry in the ostentatious market. A brand that is a hit with Bangloreans already, has now opened up for Delhiites. With it’s two floors of opulence and a progressive cuisine on the offer, Sly Granny is all set to create new benchmarks in the food industry.
After the compulsory steps of stairs, the first thing that you notice is decor – inspired by the mid 20th century designs, the collection of heterogeneous artifacts and the numerous Arnold Schwarzenegger wallpapers is something that has never been seen before. The bar floor is more luxurious – limited seating and a beautiful bar make it a good place to hang out or for private parties with a small group. The blend of colors in this place, topped by the natural light it gets, makes it a perfect place for stunning food shots too!

The menu with it’s European influences is appealing – the tapas style of serving more of a relief. Unique in its own ways, the menu has been curated to cater to people with varied interests. The two page menu gives a varied choice over kinds of meat and for vegetarians equally – so be rest assured that whether you choose something from the small plates section, the main plates section or the tapas section – you will be in for a treat.

Don’t miss the Croque Melt – you will be committing a sin if you do. The combination of mushroom ragu, mint chimichurri, tomato jam and cheddar make it a dish that you can have over and over again! If you are health conscious try the salads – which are low on the calories yet high on flavors. The Barley Salad is as refreshing as it could be, with an Indian twist, and the portion would fill one easily up, so keep that in mind while ordering. Barcelona Shrimps is again a dish you should have if you are fine with seafood – a no frills dish that is high on flavor. Pulled Lamb Shoulder is not to be missed too – served on a brioche with house salad – the flavor of the meat here is just apt to make this a wonderful dish.

From the main plates our recommendations would be Biscuits & Gravy, Grilled Lamb Chops, Sly 9 and Black Pepper Salmon. Sly 9 is their tenderloin burger – it has everything that makes a good burger – the juiciest patty ever, bacon, cheese, pickle and a melt in the mouth bun; any guesses why it is named ‘Sly 9’? The lamb chops are the best we have had – grilled to perfection, retaining the juices and the flavor of the meat. You will love Biscuits & Gravy for the sheer taste it offers – pork sausages in a semi gravy with buttermilk biscuits – this one’s to be had for sure.

Whatever you do save some appetite for the desserts – for you just can’t miss Brie En Croute & Panookie from the menu. Brie Cheese wrapped with filo pastry and served with caramelized honey sauce – this one is a dessert, if we are offered daily for the rest of our lives, we would more than happy. Panookie is again something that would love for the texture and flavors that it provides – a huge hot choco-chip cookie served with marshmallows and ice cream – this one’s a combination made in heaven.

On the day of our visit, there was no alcohol avaialable, but given the finesse of mocktails that we had, we are sure that the cocktail menu is going to be a hit. Passion Fruit Orange Cooler, Orange No Mojito, Arnie’s Pineapples are the drinks we tried and they were quite refreshing.
