A nice way to showcase the diversity of culture in India, Plaza Premium Lounge taps the street foods from all corners of India and presents them at the comfort of an airport.
A crisp dosa, steaming hot sambhar and flavorful chutneys, the ever so famous samosa chole, pav bhaji from Bollywood city, the surprisingly good tikki bun and the bhalla papdi chaat are some of the items that you can relish while you wait to board your flight. The regularly changing menu is a good way to keep the interest going for frequent fliers. More choice comes in form of the regular buffet which has a plethora of items on offer itself. We enjoyed the crisp plain dosa and the masala dosa served with the hot sambhar and tomato, coconut chutney. The tikki bun is very nice concept and the saunth and kachumber salad just add to the flavors. Pav Bhaji was nice too and bhalla papdi chaat was well made.
One luxury that only Plaza Premium Lounge offers is the live chai counter. Chai is something that Indians can’t do without – everyone knows our love for chai. The live counter prepares fresh tea with a variety of flavors to offer. We tried a cup of masala chai and it was as you would expect it to be. Ah, the satisfaction of a freshly made cup of tea, no words!
The Street Food Fiesta is open from October 5 – November 6 at the Domestic Departures in Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore airports. With an eligible card, everything is complimentary (except for the alcohol). If not, lounge access starts at INR 1200 ++ per person.
