The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel is a one stop destination for food festivals. The team in the kitchen is so enthusiastic and passionate about their work, that they go to far lengths to bring authentic cuisines from the corners of the country, and in this case, the world, to the plate of the patrons. This time around, it’s Thai food on the menu – the delectable fare thronging the Streets of Bangkok, can now be enjoyed at the open air setup in the hotel premises.
Curated by Chef Parihar Veer Pratap Singh, Chef De Cuisine, Mei Kun and Thai Master Chef Kanyaphat Faisai; the festival brings the best of Thai Street Food to your plates at the hotel’s outdoor patio, Frangipani. The guest of honour H.E. Mr Chutrintorn Gongsakdi (Thai Ambassador to India), officially cut the ribbon at the inauguration, inviting all food lovers to indulge in the festival.
The cyclic menu brings to you live counters of salads, dishing out the likes of the famous Som Tam (raw papaya salad), Yum Som O (spicy pomelo salad) to start with. The appetizers section has an array of starters made with prawns, chicken, fish and lamb. Crispy Fried Fish Cake, Deep Fried Prawns Wrapped with Yellow Noodles are not to be missed from this section.
The mains has a good choice for vegetarians and non-vegetarians – a collection of curries and stir fry accompanies by rice and noodles. We loved the Red Curry and Green Curry, which represent the most common curries from the region. Other items available as part of the cyclic menu are also delectable.
The dessert section is particularly interesting. Don’t miss the Water Chestnut in syrup and coconut milk and Thai Moong Bean Pudding, they are delectable and you would not want to stop at one. Sticky rice with seasonal fruits is also available to complete the menu!
Priced at only1199, the festival is an economical means to savor delectable Thai Street Food at the comfort of the hotel. The open air setup adds to the fun, and the weather compliments the lightly prepared dishes with strong aromatic components and a spicy edge.
