The onset of summer brings with it sunny days and warmer nights. And gradually as our wardrobe makes way from the harsh winters to the sizzling summers, we see a gush of summer veggies donning our diets. Therein taking a cue from the weather, many places in the city come out with their bright serviettes and a customized summer menu. One such menu we eagerly wait for is the Summer Menu at Fire, The Park New Delhi. With an aim to be 100% organic very soon, this one keeps getting better each year. Choose the tasting menu (which we tried) or a-la-carte – either way it is a treat.
A special shout out for the refreshers – tasting portions of Phalsa Ka Sharbat, Sattu Ka Ghol and Kerala Sambaram served in test tubes – these stand true to their name. The table favorite was Phalsa Ka Sharbat – perfect in all sense, this one’s addictive. Sattu Ka Ghol is as refreshing as it can get.

Salads are probably the best part of the Summer Menu at The Park New Delhi. Our meal started with Burrata, Arugula & Watermelon Salad. The variant served in the winter menu last year became a favorite, and this time, it changed slightly. Cherry Tomatoes are replaced by watermelon carpaccio and a kasundi mint dressing replaces the sweet mustard; candied walnut is an addition – for the crunch. The burrata comes from Father Michael, Bengaluru & the rocket leaves from the terrace garden! All it takes is a bite, to get this salad to your list of favorites.

A platter of Jardaloo Salli Boti & Chingri Macher Aam Kasundi is served for starters. Jardaloo Salli Boti, a Parsi delicacy made using mutton & apricot is delectable to the core, the spices and apricot balancing each other. Chingri Macher Aam Kasundi – prawns from Gujarat, given the bong twist, made with raw mango & kasundi – has got interesting flavors.

The main course platter had portions of Manchatti Meen Curry, which is served with Kappa and Gongura Mamsam. Manchatti Meen Curry is made the traditional way and the kodampulli (black tamarind) does its worth imparting flavors to the dish. Served with kappa (dish made with tapioca), its a brilliant combination that we had for the first time. Gongura Mamsam is made using sorrel leaves, which imparts the fabled lemony flavor. Pair it with 5 Seed Missi Roti and indulge in the flavors!

We didn’t knew that the star of the meal was yet to come – Signature Achari Pearl Barley Risotto. We loved the last year’s variant and we loved this one more! Loaded with ladakh black peas, edamame beans, topped with desi cow ghee and kurkuri karela, this one’s not to be missed at any cost.

Gulab Ki Kheer, Mango & Mint Panna Cotta and Jamun Yogurt Parfait made up for the dessert platter this time. Our favorite (and everyone else’s) was the Jamun Yogurt Parfait, and guess what, it’s sugar free as well! Mango & Mint Panna Cotta brings up so many textures together – there’s meringue crisp, aam pappad and the creamy panna cotta. Take our advice – start with the Jamun Yogurt Parfait, moving onto the Panna Cotta and finishing with the Gulab Ki Kheer.

With over 70% of the ingredients used in menu being organic, the Summer Menu at Fire, The Park New Delhi is the best way to indulge in Indian food presented in a contemporary style, which is the forte of the restaurant.
The tasting menu is available for lunch (prior bookings only) & dinner (walk-in). You can order a-la-carte during lunch & dinner both. The tasting menu is priced at1500++. You can also choose to get a wine paired meal at additional cost.
