Punjab Grill Tappa is the youngest addition to Lite Bite Foods – one of India’s largest F&B operators. Located in the buzzing Cyber Hub, Gurugram, it focuses on offering North Indian fare with a modern-day twist. The interiors are artsy and stylish yet comfortable, with a long bar counter adorning one of the sides makes the place look superb. Seating is indoors and also an al-fresco option is available for the times when there is a spring in the air.
The collection at the bar is impressive. There are some amazing concoctions served and there is a whole new Summer Mocktails menu. We got recommendations of Sangria National Highway & Kairi Tappa Panna Soda from the mocktails menu – loved the Kairi Panna Soda – their version of aam panna made with soda and raw mango. Melbourne Campus from the cocktail section was the recommendation by the manager, and it was made to perfection, keeping our preferences in consideration.

Coming to the food, the classic Indian items are given a fun twist. The team have experimented and come up with interesting dishes along with some innovative presentations.
On the menu you will see items that are familiar, but then there are twists that make them interesting – echoing the forte of the restaurant. Take for instance Pather Kebab Chicken – which has melt in the mouth chiken kebabs cooked over a stone – a traditional delicacy – served with toasted fox nuts and stir fried greens. The combination is something you will not see anywhere else, be skeptical of to start with, but fall in love with the first bite. Another example of the finesse of the restaurant is Tawa Asparagus, Paneer Tikka, Tomato Chutney; which presents the favorite Paneer Tikka, in a totally new avatar.

Tandoori Norwegian Salmon is one dish you should never miss here. The Dil & Saffron marinade doesn’t over power the flavor of the fish, only complementing it. The twist? It’s served with Jhal Muri, the street favorite from Bengal. Perfectly cooked fish, with juices oozing out at every bite, is all you can ask for in a salmon dish, and this one gets full marks for it!

Order the Himalayan Trout, Chilli Pepper Siked Masala only if you are in a group or have a decent appetite, since the entire fish is served, and it’s huge! Haleem Khao Suey is a medley of Hyderabadi Haleem and Burmese Khao Suey. If you love Haleem, as we do, the initial thoughts will be whether to put the condiments in the Haleem, but once you conquer your fear, it is deliciousness ahead. Churry Kutti ‘Crumbled Bread’ is a variant of one-pot dish where you get a crumbled bread (no points for guessing that!) with a semi-gravy dish of your choice (squid & shrimps/chicken & egg/asparagus, bokchoy, caulifower/classic jaggery).

The Summer Dessert Platter is as much a platter of art as it is a platter of gastronomical delight. Chenna Roll, Stuffed Lychees, Fresh Mango Pudding, Pomegranate Granita, Kulfi and Fresh Mango – you are spoilt for choices. Fresh Mango Pudding, Pomegranate Granita was the unanimous favorite followed by the stuffed lychees!

The #Tappalicious New Menu at Punjab Grill Tappa is your stop when you want to try something new, but can’t really get out the familiar items from your mind. The menu offers the best of both and more!
