Tea has a special place in the hearts of Bengalis – be it the endless mini cups of tea during addas, or the compulsory cup of tea offered to a visiting relative or friend, irrespective of the time of the day – Tea is something you can’t separate a Bengali from. Having said that, procuring good quality tea always remains a hassle – some places are not consistent, some just don’t have the variety that you need, and then there are logistical issues if you are ordering. As if on a cue, we got a pack of tea, TeaPac, from TeaBox for review – what a relief it is. Having tasted all the varieties in the box in the last couple of weeks, we are sure there is nothing better.
The USP of TeaBox is the timeline in which tea is delivered to the consumers. Having cut down the logistical time from 12-24 weeks to just about a week, TeaBox has revolutionized the way fresh tea is delivered. This has been possible by interacting with the tea gardens directly. Founded in 2012, TeaBox’s products feature teas sourced from tea gardens in Darjeeling, Assam, Kangra, Nilgiris & Nepal.
TeaBox has also introduced TeaPacs – the first individually packaged tea bags sealed at the source using a natural nitrogen flush that keeps the tea as fresh as the day it was picked. The latest addition to Teabox’s line of exceptional tea products, TeaPacs offer the highest quality, loose leaf tea from Teabox’s premium collection in a more convenient, on-the-go option without compromising flavor or freshness. This technique creates a non-reactive environment that protects the TeaPac tea from oxygen, light, heat and moisture – elements that compromise the integrity of the tea, causing deterioration and ultimately, loss of flavor.
Choose from a wide variety available on their website – loose leaf, teapacs, teawares. There are sampler boxes available if you are getting started with them – which have a mix of different varieties to help you try a variety they have to offer and make a selection. We got a sampler box (240) with Fresh Morning Dew, Fresh Kashmiri Kahwa, Fresh Chamomile Bay & Fresh Mint Jubilee. Needless to say, the Teapacs do their job as said and even after a month when we used the Teapac, the tea was as fragrant and had the same taste as when delivered.
